For makers, tinkerers, and anyone who loves to bring ideas to life — the EcoDisplay Kit (DIY) includes everything you need to transform your old iPad into a beautiful touchscreen display.

We’ve prepared a complete set of parts, tools, and step-by-step instructions to make the process clear, safe, and rewarding — even if you’ve never taken apart a device before.

a. The Adapter — The Heart of EcoDisplay

This is the core component that powers your conversion.

Currently available in four models, each adapter precisely matches the display and touchscreen of specific iPad generations (see the compatibility chart above).

It’s what allows your iPad’s original Retina display and multi-touch panel to come alive again through a simple Type-C connection.

👉 Adapter Model Selection: After the campaign is successfully funded, we’ll send a backer survey to confirm which iPad model you have.

Your adapter version (A3, A5, A6, or AA2) will be assigned accordingly, ensuring you receive the perfect match for your iPad.

b. The Tools — Everything You Need

To make the DIY process smooth, we provide two carefully selected toolsets:

Specialized prying tools and suction pads help you safely separate the iPad’s display and touch layers from the housing — all guided by our illustrated manual.

b.2 Assembly Tools

Once the display and touch panel are ready, these tools help you align, connect, and secure the components into the new EcoDisplay frame for a clean, professional finish.

Every step has been documented in our comprehensive guidebook, with photos and tips from real assembly tests.

c. The Frame — Make It Yours

Each EcoDisplay Kit comes with digital 3D printing files (STL format).

If you have access to a 3D printer, you can print your own frame in any color or material you like — PLA, PETG, ABS, or even wood-textured filament.
