USB-C: Your device must support video output over USB-C. A charging-only USB-C port is not enough.

HDMI: TDA S models support HDMI video input. Touch requires a separate USB data connection, provided through the appropriate TDA HDMI cable setup.

*Touch availability depends on the connected device, operating system and USB data connection. USB-C Full-Featured Cable and TDA HDMI Cable are sold separately.

Frequently Asked Questions

Good to Know.

Is my iPad compatible with TDA?
TDA supports iPad (3rd–9th generation) and iPad Air (1st generation). Each TDA version is designed for specific models. If you are unsure which iPad you have, use the iPad Model Finder to check its Axxxx model number.
What's the difference between Standard and S?
Standard supports USB-C video input. S supports both USB-C and HDMI video input. Touch functionality requires a compatible host and USB data connection.
Are connection cables included?
No. The iPad and external connection cables are not included in the TDA kit. The USB-C Full-Featured Cable and custom TDA HDMI Cable are sold separately.
Will TDA work with my computer?
TDA works as an external display with compatible video sources. For USB-C, the host must support video output over USB-C. For HDMI, choose an S model and the custom TDA HDMI Cable. Touch input depends on host support for USB HID touch.
Does touch work over HDMI?
Yes, with the custom TDA HDMI Cable and a host that supports USB HID touch input. The cable has three host-side connectors: HDMI for video, USB-C for touch data, and USB-A for power. Connect all three to the appropriate ports. No additional touch driver is needed on hosts with native USB HID touch support. The cable is sold separately.
Is installation difficult?
TDA is a DIY conversion kit. Installation involves opening your iPad, fitting internal components and reassembling it. Follow the instructions carefully and take your time, particularly if you are new to electronics repair.
Can I still use my iPad normally after installing TDA?
No. After conversion, the iPad functions as an external touch display rather than a standalone tablet running iPadOS. It must be connected to a compatible external device to display content.
