iPad setup guide for Taiko players
On iPad, there are two essentials: set the drum to iPad Mode, then enable AssistiveTouch so drum hits translate into screen taps.

Read this first (OTG matters)
TDC10 includes a USB-A → USB-C OTG adapter. Use it with a USB cable to connect to your iPad.
Many third-party USB-A → USB-C cables do not support OTG. If OTG isn’t supported, the drum may power on, but iPad won’t recognize it correctly.
If iPad doesn’t detect the drum, the cable/adapter is the first thing to check.
Step 1 — Connect (power first)
Connect TDC10/TDC17 to your iPad (USB-C) so the drum powers on.
Important: connect and power the drum first, then open TDC Mate.
Step 2 — Set iPad mode in TDC Mate
In TDC Mate, open Game Station Mode, select iPad, then tap Save / Apply.
After saving, the app switches to an iPad-style layout — that’s your confirmation.
Step 3 — Enable AssistiveTouch
On iPad: Settings → Accessibility → Touch → AssistiveTouch, then turn AssistiveTouch ON.
This allows iPad to translate drum input into virtual screen taps.
Step 4 — Confirm “TDC10 mouse” appears
In Accessibility settings, open Devices. You should see “TDC10 mouse” (or TDC17).
If it appears, your iPad recognizes the drum correctly.
Tip
Step 5 — Start playing (no manual mapping needed)
No manual mapping needed. In iPad Mode, TDC10/TDC17 already has a preset mapping between drum hits and screen taps.
Launch your Taiko/rhythm game and hit the four zones (Left/Right Don, Left/Right Ka). Each hit will trigger the corresponding in-game area automatically.
Quick test
Quick test order:
• Left Don
• Right Don
• Left Ka
• Right Ka
Drum powers on, but nothing happens in game
Confirm: (1) Game Station Mode is iPad, (2) AssistiveTouch is ON, (3) “TDC10 mouse” appears in Devices, (4) you’re using an OTG-capable cable/adapter.
Then fully close and relaunch the game.
iPad doesn’t detect the drum
Most common cause: the USB cable doesn’t support OTG.
Use the included TDC10 OTG adapter + a known OTG-capable cable, then reconnect the drum.
It worked before, but stopped
Check the cable connection, confirm AssistiveTouch is still ON, and verify the drum is still set to iPad mode in TDC Mate.
